The National Board of Examinations
conducts the NEET PG Exam, essential for candidates seeking admission to MD
(Doctor of Medicine), MS (Master of Surgery), and Post-Graduate post-MBBS, DNB
and NBE diploma courses across India. It is the central entrance
examination for doctors in India who wish to pursue specialization after
completing their MBBS degree.
The National Board of Examination
(NBE) will announce the dates and other crucial details of the NEET PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for
Post-Graduation) 2026 exam with an official
information brochure on its website.
Candidates must register online and
submit the NEET PG 2026 exam application form. As per the recent notification
by NMC, the NEET PG 2026 exam will be held tentatively on Aug 30, 2026.
The new CBME curriculum and its Relevance
in the NEET PG Exam 2026
Recently, the NMC launched the new
CBME curriculum which shifted the focus towards clinical questions. Several
standard resources and study materials like Ten into Ten (Part A and B) are now based on the latest CBME pattern and serve as
reliable guide bridging the gap between standard textbooks and the
practical demands of the postgraduate entrance exam.
The exam mode is online, and the
CBT (computer-based test) assesses candidates' comprehensive understanding of
medical subjects studied during their MBBS program. Candidates must complete
their MBBS degree and the required internship to be eligible.

NEET PG Eligibility and Scope
A candidate preparing for the NEET
PG 2026 should know the eligibility criteria set by the board. There is no age
limit in the exam. One should have a degree/provisional Pass Certificate
recognized under the Indian Medical Council Act 1956. Apart from an MBBS
degree, they should also possess a permanent/ provisional registration
certificate of MBBS, whereas the internship must be completed according to the official
brochure before Aug 30, 2026.

PG 2026 Exam Pattern
NBE has set the NEET PG (National
Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation) 2026 pattern, which is
released along with the official brochure. NEET PG 2026 structure comprises
details about the exam, including exam mode, medium, the total number of
questions and their type, and marking scheme. A negative mark is on the exam. One
will get + 4 marks for every correct response and -1 for the wrong response. We
