Shukla Das

Shukla Das MD, DNB, MNAMS is Director-Professor and Head of the Department of Microbiology at University College of Medical Sciences and Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, Delhi, and former Assistant Director at the National Centre for Disease Control. She has over 27 years of teaching experience in microbiology for medical, nursing, and dental students and has guided several PhD scholars under Delhi University’s Faculty of Medical Sciences. She has completed 10 government-funded research projects in autoimmunity, diarrhoeal diseases, and fungal infections, and has published over 198 papers, including 120 peer-reviewed indexed articles, and contributed chapters to six textbooks. She has served as examiner for BDS, MBBS, MD, and PhD programs at various universities and has delivered scientific talks at national and international conferences. She is Vice President of the Indian Society of Medical Mycology (ISMM) and has received multiple awards, including the Satish Chandra Best Research Paper Award (IAMM, Delhi Chapter, 2016) and the Dr AM Saoji and Dr SR Sengupta Memorial Award (MICROCON 2014).

Rumpa Saha

Rumpa Saha MBBS, MD (Microbiology) is Director-Professor in the same department at University College of Medical Sciences and GTB Hospital, Delhi, and has been associated with the institution since 2002. She completed her MBBS from Calcutta National Medical College, Calcutta University, and her MD in Microbiology from PGIMER, Chandigarh. She has more than 18 years of teaching experience for UG, PG, nursing, and MLT students. Her research interests include enteric diseases, parasitology, and STIs. She has published 73 papers in indexed national and international journals, contributed chapters to books such as Osteoarticular Tuberculosis (CBS Publishers), Rational Use of Antimicrobials: Indian Perspectives (IMA Publications), and Diploma in MLT Microbiology (IMA Publications, also edited the last two). She has served as examiner for MBBS, MD (Microbiology), and BDS examinations across several universities and has delivered guest lectures and chaired sessions at multiple conferences and symposia in India.
