Bela J. Shah, MD Dr. Bela J. Shah is currently Professor and Head, Department of Dermatology and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), at B. J. Medical College and Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad. She has been heading the department for the past 18 years and has served the institution for over 34 years. She completed her MBBS from M. P. Shah Medical College, Jamnagar, and her MD in Dermatology from B. J. Medical College, Ahmedabad. Dr. Shah has served as Secretary and President of the Gujarat State Branch of the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists, and Leprologists (IADVL) and has organized multiple state, zonal, and national conferences in various leadership roles. She has to her credit over 350 research papers published in indexed journals, has authored five textbooks, and has contributed 40 chapters to several prestigious books. In recognition of her outstanding contribution to dermatology education, she was awarded the Best Teacher Award by IADVL in 2021.
