Achal K. Srivastava is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Neurology at AIIMS, New Delhi, India. He heads the Clinical Neurophysiology Facility, Neurobiology Laboratory, and Ataxia Clinic at the institute. He graduated from MLN Medical College, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, in 1991, completed his MD in Medicine in 1994 from the same institution, and obtained his DM (Neurology) from AIIMS, New Delhi, in 1998.
He has over 25 years of experience in clinical practice, teaching, and research in Neurology. His primary area of work is Movement Disorders, with special interest in ataxias, epilepsy, and neurogenetics. He has approximately 150 publications in indexed national and international journals, serves as an Associate Editor of two reputed journals, and has authored several articles and book chapters. He has received numerous national and international fellowships and academic awards for his work in ataxias and the genetics of neurological disorders. He has been involved in several national and international research projects and was an integral member of the AIIMS COVID-19 Task Force.
Arvind Kumar is currently working as an Additional Professor in the Department of Medicine at AIIMS, New Delhi. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was entrusted with multiple responsibilities as a member of the institute’s COVID Task Force. He graduated from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, in 2003.
A passionate clinician, researcher, and teacher, he has over 15 years of experience as an internist. He has around 100 publications in indexed national and international journals. He has been awarded the Atal Swasthya Bhushan Samman 2019 by the Honorable Speaker of the Lok Sabha and the Director, AIIMS, for his contributions to healthcare. He also received the KB Sharma Trophy in 2002 for outstanding contribution to the corporate life of Maulana Azad Medical College and won the Original Paper Merit Award at APICON 2020. His areas of interest include General Medicine, infectious and tropical diseases, sepsis, immunology, clinical stewardship, metabolic interactions in medical illnesses, and bedside sonography in clinical practice.
