Suresh Kumar, MD, FICP, is Director Professor and Head of the Department of Medicine at Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) and the associated Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital and G.B. Pant Hospital, New Delhi. He is a postgraduate teacher in the Department of Medicine at MAMC and has guided more than 40 MD (Medicine) students, as well as numerous PhD students of the University of Delhi. He is a speaker at several national and international conferences and has served as an expert member of the COVID Task Force of the Government of NCT of Delhi. He was a pioneer in establishing India’s first plasma bank for COVID-19 and initiated a genome sequencing laboratory at Lok Nayak Hospital. He is the Chief of the Centre of Excellence for COVID-19 at Lok Nayak Hospital and Maulana Azad Medical College. As Medical Director of Lok Nayak Hospital, he played a key role in COVID-19 management in South-East Asia. His clinical work has been globally appreciated, and he and his team successfully treated more than 20,000 COVID-19 patients at Lok Nayak Hospital (MAMC), New Delhi.
