SK Mazumder MTech, PhD is former Professor and Head, Department of Civil Engineering, Delhi Technological University; Dean, Faculty of Technology, University of Delhi, and Visiting Professor, Swiss Federal Technology Institute of Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. He has 65 years of teaching, research, design, and consultancy experience in hydraulics and water resources engineering. He has guided 30 theses at ME and PhD levels, published 3 books, and contributed chapters in 5 books. He has to his credit 220 technical papers published in reputed national and international journals and presented at conferences in India and abroad, and is reviewer of several technical journals. He has received the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' from the Indian Society for Hydraulics, Pune.

He has 18 years of experience in the field of hydrology and hydraulics, including water availability study, flood estimation of different hydraulic components, consistency checking of hydrometeorological data, finding out catchment area, hydraulic design of drainage, bridge, spillway, barrage, energy dissipater, surge/transient analysis, water surface profile, reservoir operation, and sediment analysis. He worked on Indian and Nepal-based projects and has exposure to both the Indian and Nepal practices and their respective codes and standards.
