He has over 25 years of experience in clinical practice and undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Dr. Balakrishnan has authored over 100 papers published in medical journals and has received the Good Teacher Award for excellence in undergraduate teaching. He has participated as faculty and speaker in various national and international conferences and continuing medical education programs. His areas of special interest include micro-ear surgery, endoscopic sinus surgery, and head and neck oncologic surgery.

P. Hazarika DLO, MS, FACS, FRCS (Edin), FIAO, FUWAI, FUICC is a former Professor and Head of the Department of ENT and Head–Neck Surgery at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, and a former Senior Consultant at NMC Specialty Hospital, Abu Dhabi. He is currently a Consultant ENT Surgeon at Nemcare Hospital, Guwahati, Assam. He has over 30 years of experience in clinical practice and more than 25 years in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Dr. Hazarika has published over 100 papers in national and international peer-reviewed medical journals and has been a sought-after speaker at conferences, live surgery workshops, and medical education programs in India and abroad. He was selected as an International Guest Scholar by the American College of Surgeons in 1986 and has traveled extensively worldwide, including to the USA, UK, Australia, Malaysia, Switzerland, and Mauritius. He designed the HRA Voice Prosthesis for alaryngeal patients and was the first surgeon to introduce the Nucleus 22-channel cochlear implant in India in 1985. He also played a key role in popularizing skull base surgery in India during the early 1990s. His areas of special interest include head and neck surgery and KTP-532 laser-assisted ENT surgeries.

DR Nayak MS, FICS, FIAO, UICC Fellow is a former Head and currently Professor and Chief, Unit I, Department of ENT and Head–Neck Surgery at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. He has over 30 years of experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and clinical practice. DR Nayak has actively participated in numerous conferences, live surgery demonstrations, and continuing medical education programs across the country. He completed a project on “Recent Trends in Head, Neck, and Skull Base Surgery” at the University of Illinois, Chicago, under the ICRETT Fellowship. He was a Visiting Professor at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA, in 1998, and visited the Royal Infirmary Hospital, University of Leicester, UK, in 2004. He has more than 125 publications in national and international journals and has served as faculty and speaker at various conferences and workshops. His special interests include head and neck oncology, skull base surgery, endoscopic sinus surgery, and transoral laser microsurgery of the larynx, oropharynx, and hypopharynx.
