With over 300 images, the questions have been included from almost every practical procedure which is carried out in the antenatal and gynaecology wards, clinics and the labour ward. History taking, communication skills, surgical skills and teaching modules have been included.
Eronthi Somorokoon MBBS, MS, FRCOG (UK) and Chathura Ratnayake MBBS, MS, FRCOG (UK) are Senior Lecturers and Consultant Obstetricians and Gynaecologists at the University of Peradeniya and the Teaching Hospital, Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.
This book is based on over three decades of their experience as active clinicians and dedicated clinical teachers involved in teaching medical students for the final MBBS examination and postgraduate students preparing for the Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and the MRCOG (UK) examinations. They serve as examiners for the final MBBS examinations in all eight universities in Sri Lanka as well as for the MD examination.
Drawing on their extensive experience as senior examiners, the authors emphasize that success in examinations depends on understanding the examination format and process, as well as the ability to face examinations without undue stress. Their insights have been used to highlight common challenges faced by undergraduate and postgraduate candidates during OSCE examinations.
