Chhidda Singh

Chhidda Singh is an Ex-Professor of Agronomy (Extension) at G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. A gold medalist of the same university, he completed his BSc (Hons) in Agriculture and Animal Husbandry in 1963. He received a special fellowship and assistantship from the University of Illinois, USA, where he earned his MS (Agronomy) in 1965 and PhD in 1968. He began his academic career in 1969 as an Assistant Professor at G. B. Pant University. Dr. Singh later served as an agricultural consultant for World Bank–financed irrigation projects in Nepal from 1987 to 1997. He has authored more than 300 scientific and popular articles on crop production and has written five books in this field.

Rajbir Singh is currently Director of the Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ICAR-ATARI), Ludhiana. He has over 25 years of experience in research, extension, coordination, and management. Under his leadership, ICAR-ATARI, Ludhiana, achieved ISO 9001:2008 accreditation and made significant advances in technology application, frontline extension, and capacity development. He has published over 150 research papers, worked in advanced laboratories, and received several prestigious awards, including the Swami Sahajanand Saraswati Award (2016), Nanaji Deshmukh ICAR Award for Outstanding Interdisciplinary Team Research (2019), Fellow of the Indian Society of Agronomy (2014), and Fellow of the Horticultural Society of India (2016).
