Human life passes through the following stages, viz.
birth, infancy, youth, middle age, and old age or senility, followed by
eventual demise. However, each stage has its attendant heath related pitfalls.
Study of normal body falls under anatomy and physiology with normal
biochemistry, however, all disease states carry with them multiple changes in
solid or liquid tissues of the body (blood is also called liquid connective tissue).
The study of clinical aspects of disease states is labeled as clinical
pathology. Knowing everything about tests without knowing about related
clinical pathology is like reading half a book only. This textbook entitled Textbook
of Clinical Pathology for MLT Students aims to fulfill that gap in the
course study prescribed for students of medical laboratory technology.
The book
covers all aspects of disease states and related alterations with reasons as to
why certain tests are desired either during the disease state or to ascertain
recovery. These days we can even forecast future diseases too. It is important
to know that we are having a health problem, it is equally important to know
that we are absolutely healthy and that no future problems shall ensue.
