Eranthi Samarakoon, MBBS, MSc (Sri Lanka), FRCOG (UK), is a Senior Lecturer and Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Peradeniya University and Teaching Hospital, Sri Lanka. She earned Second Class Honours in her MBBS and topped the MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology (Sri Lanka) Part 1 and Part 2 exams. She completed her final postgraduate year at St. Mary’s Hospital, Manchester, passing the MRCOG (UK) on her first attempt. Board-certified in Sri Lanka since 1983, she has over three decades of teaching experience for MBBS, MD, and MRCOG students. She serves as an examiner for the Final MBBS in all nine Sri Lankan universities and for the MD Obstetrics and Gynaecology examination. She has authored five well-received books for undergraduate and postgraduate students; this is the second edition of her first book, significantly updated and improved.
