Deepak K. Tempe, MD, FRCA (London), FAMS, FIACTA, FTEE, FICA, is a renowned cardiac anaesthesiologist. A graduate of Government Medical College, Nagpur, he joined the G. B. Pant Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, New Delhi, in 1982, where he developed cardiac anaesthesia services and postoperative critical care. He served as Dean of Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi (2013–2017), was designated Professor of Excellence by the Government of India in 2018, and superannuated in 2020. Currently, he is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, New Delhi, and other institutions. A recipient of the Dr. B. C. Roy National Award, Prof. Tempe also holds the Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA, London).
