S.K. Haidar, MBBS, with a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health (Calcutta University), is the former Deputy Director General, Directorate General Factory Advice Service and Labour Institutes (DGFASLI), Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, Mumbai, where he served for over 22 years. He also worked as Deputy Principal Medical Officer for more than 11 years at Hindustan Cables Ltd. (PSU), Burdwan, West Bengal.
He has more than 33 years of experience in the field of occupational health and safety. He received specialized training in occupational safety and health from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), U.S. Department of Labor, Chicago. Dr. Haidar is highly experienced in conducting occupational health studies and surveys, and is regarded as a pioneer in the field of occupational health auditing in India.
