Anisur Rahman, MD, PhD, FRCP, is Professor of Rheumatology in the Division of Medicine, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University College London (UCL), United Kingdom. He graduated in medicine from the University of Oxford and trained in rheumatology in London. He completed his PhD focusing on autoantibodies in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), and on the molecular mechanisms of tissue damage mediated by these antibodies. He joined University College London as a Senior Lecturer and was promoted to a personal Chair in Rheumatology in 2008. Professor Rahman is a clinical scientist who divides his time between basic and clinical research. He is a member of the BILAG and SLICC groups of investigators working on SLE and has more than 200 publications to his credit.
