A new chapter on digital radiography dealing with computed and direct digital radiography has been added. Ultrasound imaging is now an independent chapter with two sections—basic understanding and ocular ultrasonography. Section on computed tomography has been rewritten. New sections on nuclear magnetic resonance imaging and interventional radiology have been added.

A. P. Singh is former Vice-Chancellor of Uttar Pradesh Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya Evam Go Anusandhan Sansthan (DUVASU), Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. He began his career at the Veterinary College, Mhow, and later served at IVRI, Izatnagar, and Veterinary College, Pantnagar. He held several senior academic and administrative positions, including Professor and Head, Department of Surgery and Radiology; Director, Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex; and Dean, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences at Haryana Agricultural University (now LUVAS), Hisar. He also served as Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Science, JNKVV, Jabalpur.
Dr. Singh was on foreign teaching assignments in Iraq (1985–1989), Ethiopia (2007–2010), and Fiji (2013–2017). He served as Executive Secretary and later President of the Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery (ISVS) and was a member of several national boards and councils, including the Veterinary Council of India. He is a Fellow of ISVS and the National Academy of Veterinary Sciences. He has authored 237 scientific publications and 14 book chapters, and has served as collaborating editor of Ruminant Surgery and coauthor of Radiology of Farm Animals. He is currently settled in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
Jit Singh, MVSc, PhD, FISVS, FNAVS – Former Professor and Head, Department of Surgery and Radiology, and Director (Teaching), Veterinary Clinical Complex, College of Veterinary Sciences, Hisar, Haryana. Founder Dean, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Navania, Udaipur, Rajasthan. He has published over 250 scientific papers and has been honoured by PAU Ludhiana, ISVS, IVA, and HAU. A Fellow of ISVS and the National Academy of Veterinary Sciences, he is co-editor of Veterinary Radiology—Basic Principles and Radiographic Positioning and collaborating editor of Selected Topics on Camelids.
