Nityanand Pathak BSc, BVSc & AH, MVSc, PhD, FNAVS, FANA, FMOBS, MAAVN
is a former Director, Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes (CIRB), Hisar; Director, Centre of Advanced Studies; and Head, Animal Nutrition Division, Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Izatnagar.
He served as Project Leader of the Buffalo Development Project at Song Be, SR Vietnam (1982–1984), and has worked with more than 150 co-workers and co-authors during his distinguished academic and research career.
Dr Pathak’s academic contributions include more than 25 books, 350 research papers, and 60 extension articles published in Hindi and English in various national and international journals. To date, he is the only scientist to have held the office of President of both the Animal Nutrition Association, Izatnagar, and the Animal Nutrition Society of India, Karnal.
He has also served as Vice President of the Indian Society of Buffalo Development, Hisar, and the Indian Society of Wildlife and Zoo Veterinarians, Bareilly. He was General Secretary of the National Academy of Veterinary Sciences (India), New Delhi.
Dr Pathak is the Founder President of the National Academy of Veterinary Nutrition and Animal Welfare, Bareilly.
