Shivanand Tolanur

Shivanand Tolanur completed his BSc (Agriculture), MSc (Soil Science), and PhD in Soil Science from the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Dharwad, Karnataka. He has served as a Team Leader in several research projects and has demonstrated numerous research findings to the farming community. At the same time, he has contributed to the development of Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) technologies through his research work. He has made significant academic contributions by preparing six laboratory manuals in addition to authoring three textbooks, namely Fundamentals of Soil Science, Soil Chemistry and Soil Fertility, and Fertilizer and Integrated Nutrient Management, for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Over a span of 34 years in teaching, research, and extension, he has served in various capacities, including Research Assistant, Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor. He is currently serving as Professor and Head of the Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry at the College of Agriculture, Vijayapur, Karnataka.
