Indu Khurana

Indu Khurana, MD is presently serving as Professor Emeritus and Joint Editor of IJHSC at SGT University, Budhera, Gurugram. She brings over 45 years of teaching experience to the field of medical education. Formerly, she served as Dean-cum-Principal and Professor of Physiology at World College of Medical Sciences and Research, Jhajjar, and as Senior Professor and Head of the Department of Physiology at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Rohtak. She also held the position of Dean, Faculty of Pre-Clinical Sciences at the University of Health Sciences (UHS), Rohtak. Dr. Khurana is the Founder President of the Association of Physiologists of Haryana. She has published extensively in national and international journals, with notable contributions including the discovery of a new reflex, the “Oculodepressor Reflex” (ODR), and the identification of three distinct patterns of the Oculorespiratory Reflex (ORR). In recognition of her pioneering work on Oculovisceral reflexes, she has received Excellence Awards from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the Strabismological Society of India (SSI). She has also been honored with the Excellence Award by the Association of Physiologists of Haryana for her outstanding contributions to physiology. Additionally, she was bestowed with the National Lifetime Achievement Award by the Society of Basic and Applied Medical Sciences, celebrating her lifelong dedication to medical education and research.
