Each question has four options to answer. Both, the question as well as the options, have been framed in a simple lucid language so that the students can easily understand the same and choose the correct option. Dr. Ekta Debnath, MBBS, MD, DNB, Fellowship in Molecular Genetics (AIIMS, New Delhi) is Professor, Department of Biochemistry, Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. She completed her MBBS and MD from Pt. B. D. Sharma PGIMS, Rohtak, followed by senior residency and fellowship training at AIIMS, New Delhi. She previously served as faculty at Lady Hardinge Medical College until 2021.
Her areas of expertise include molecular diagnostics, newborn screening, and clinical chemistry. Dr. Debnath has supervised multiple MD theses and has numerous national and international publications. She serves as a reviewer for indexed journals and as an examiner for universities, AIIMS institutions, and the National Board of Examinations. She is an NMC inspector and NABL assessor (QCI), a member of national expert committees, and played a key role during the COVID-19 pandemic in establishing a molecular diagnostic laboratory at LHMC. She also secured a major DBT-funded NIDAN Kendra research project.
Harbans Lal, Ph.D., FACBI, FSB, FIAO, joined the Department of Biochemistry at Medical College, Rohtak (now PGIMS, Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak) as a Lecturer in 1976 and retired as Professor in 2009. He later served as Senior Professor and Head, Department of Biochemistry, Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha. With vast experience teaching medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, and MLT students, he has guided numerous Ph.D. and M.D. scholars, authored 12 textbooks, and published over 150 research papers in national and international journals. He has also served as a peer reviewer and visiting faculty at reputed institutions in India and the USA. A life member of several national and international scientific bodies, he is the recipient of multiple prestigious awards, including the WHO Fellowship Award, Nutrition Society of India Young Scientist Award, and Best Teacher Award for Excellence in Teaching.
