Ekta Debnath
Dr. Ekta Debnath, MBBS, MD, DNB, Fellowship in Molecular Genetics (AIIMS, New Delhi) is Professor, Department of Biochemistry, Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. She completed her MBBS and MD from Pt. B. D. Sharma PGIMS, Rohtak, followed by senior residency and fellowship training at AIIMS, New Delhi. She previously served as faculty at Lady Hardinge Medical College until 2021.
Her areas of expertise include molecular diagnostics, newborn screening, and clinical chemistry. Dr. Debnath has supervised multiple MD theses and has numerous national and international publications. She serves as a reviewer for indexed journals and as an examiner for universities, AIIMS institutions, and the National Board of Examinations. She is an NMC inspector and NABL assessor (QCI), a member of national expert committees, and played a key role during the COVID-19 pandemic in establishing a molecular diagnostic laboratory at LHMC. She also secured a major DBT-funded NIDAN Kendra research project.
