Descriptions

Descriptions

Traditionally hospital management has grown as an offshoot of general management, though hospital as an organization is uniquely different from the other services, necessitating a novel approach in its management. Hospital management has evolved as a specialized management rather than that of medicine as was envisaged earlier, increasingly applying modern manage- ment concepts like balanced score card to that of economic value addition. It will serve as a valuable textbook for all the students of hospital/healthcare management, and a useful handbook/reference for academicians and practising managers as it fills the caveat for a holistic book on hospital management covering various perspectives like hospital planning, operations, IT, and quality, besides the basics of hospital management. All the stakeholders in the healthcare and hospital management sector, particularly nursing graduates, owners of nursing homes, practising hospital managers, and all those who are interested in the working of hospitals, will immensely benefit from the book.
