The editors of this book have introduced various aspects of pharmacovigilance. In most of the pharmaceutical industries or contract research organizations, pharmacovigilance is divided into two major teams, i.e. case processing and aggregate reporting teams. The case processing team is responsible for the processing of the cases whereas the aggregate reporting team analyses cases in a specific period of time. Ruchika Sharma, Ph.D., is a Research Associate at the Centre for Precision Medicine and Pharmacy, DPSRU, New Delhi. She previously served as Assistant Professor, ISF College of Pharmacy, Moga, and Research Associate, CSIR-IHBT, Palampur. She holds an M.Sc. in Biotechnology and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University, Nauni, Solan. A life member of the Association of Biotechnologists of Himachal Pradesh, she has published over 50 research papers, contributed 12 book chapters, and works in plant biotechnology, molecular biology, enzymology, and microbiology, with expertise in NGS, RT-PCR, and gel electrophoresis.

She has previously served as Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, ISF College of Pharmacy, Moga, Punjab, and Research Associate, CSIR-IHBT, Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. She obtained her M.Sc. in Biotechnology and Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan. She is a life member of the Association of Biotechnologists of Himachal Pradesh and has extensive experience in plant biotechnology, biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, and enzymology. She has published over 50 research and review papers in reputed international journals, contributed 12 book chapters, and has expertise in molecular biology techniques such as NGS, RT-PCR, and gel electrophoresis.
