Vipul Ambade, MBBS, MD, LLB, is currently the Vice-Dean and Professor and Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine at Government Medical College, Gondia, Maharashtra. He completed his MBBS from Government Medical College, Nagpur, in 1993, and his MD in Forensic Medicine from Indira Gandhi Medical College, Nagpur, in 1997. He joined as a Lecturer in the Department of Forensic Medicine at Government Medical College, Nagpur, and has also served at Government Medical College, Yeotmal, and Indira Gandhi Medical College, Nagpur.
He is a member of the Indian Academy of Forensic Medicine and the Indian Medical Association. He has to his credit more than 75 scientific publications, including original research articles and case reports, published in leading national and international journals, many of which are indexed in PubMed. He has received over 1,000 citations on Google Scholar, with an h-index of 30.
He serves as a reviewer for several national and international journals and has been a member of Institutional Ethics Committees and Staff Research Societies. He has received the “Top Cited Award” from Elsevier for one of his publications in an international journal. He has also served as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Forensic Medicine Science and Law.
