S. S. Acharya is Former Chairman of the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices, Government of India, and former Director of the Institute of Development Studies, Jaipur, where he is currently Honorary Professor. He is also Director-Emeritus of Africa Harvest Biotech Foundation International (Nairobi & Washington, DC) and Chief Editor of the Indian Journal of Agricultural Marketing. With over 52 years of experience as a teacher, researcher, extension worker, and policy advisor, he has authored 18 books, 48 book chapters, 76 research monographs/reports, and 465 research papers on agricultural marketing, prices, policy, and development. His honors include Best Ph.D. Student at Ohio State University and IARI, President of multiple agricultural societies, FAO Senior Policy Consultant, UNDP-FAO Mission Leader for East Timor, and Chair of Planning Commission working groups on agricultural marketing and trade.

NL Agarwal

N. L. Agarwal (1939–2017) was Professor and Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics at Rajasthan Agricultural University, Jobner. With over 40 years of teaching and research experience, he specialized in agricultural marketing and prices. He supervised three Ph.D. and 25 M.Sc. research theses and authored several books and articles, including Bhartiya Krishi Ka Arthatantra, for which he received the Dr. Rajendra Prasad Award.
