Dr. R.S. Singh
Dr. R.S. Singh dedicated nearly 40 years to research and teaching in plant pathology, starting in 1948. He has published over 130 research papers and authored several textbooks, including Plant Diseases, Principles of Plant Pathology, Plant Pathogens: The Prokaryotes, The Fungi, The Nematodes, among others. A past President of the Indian Phytopathological Society and the Indian Society of Mycology and Plant Pathology, he has remained actively engaged in the field post-retirement.
His book on vegetable diseases, first published in 1985, addresses the significant losses in vegetable production due to fungi, bacteria, viruses, nematodes, and other hazards. Written specifically for students of plant pathology in Indian universities, the current edition incorporates reader suggestions and recent developments in the field.
