Baijayantimala Mishra is currently Professor and Head of the Department of Microbiology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, Odisha. She completed her postgraduate training in Microbiology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, in 1996. Subsequently, she joined the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, where she served as faculty and rose to the position of Professor of Virology.
Prof. Mishra has over 25 years of experience in viral diagnostics, research, and teaching. She is a Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the Royal College of Physicians (London), the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Glasgow), and the International Medical Science Academy, and is a Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, India.
