Lt Gen MD, DM is a Professor and Senior Consultant in Rheumatology at Sir Ved Chaturvedi Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. After completing his DM from the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow, he was entrusted with modernising the Department of Rheumatology at the Army Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi. He started medical arthroscopy and established a modern immunology laboratory in 2000. He was first to use biologics for rheumatic diseases in 2002 and is known for his concept of low-dose lnfliximab as a strategy to prevent, tuberculosis and as a cost-saving measure during anti-TNF therapy. He established the first rheumatology ultrasound in the country in 2004 and conducted the first rheumatology ultrasound workshop in IRACON, Chennai.
