Dr. Sumitra Bakshi, MD, DNB (Anaesthesia), is Professor and Departmental Lead for the Acute Pain Service (APS) at Tata Memorial Centre and Homi Bhabha National Institute, Mumbai. An active member of the APS since 2006, she has played a pivotal role in elevating the service to international standards through training and exposure at leading global institutions, including MD Anderson Cancer Center (USA), Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (USA), Toronto General Hospital (Canada), Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Australia), and Royal Perth Hospital (Australia). Her ANZCA award-winning clinical work in regional analgesia introduced effective opioid-sparing techniques as alternatives to epidural analgesia in selected patients.
