Sarthak Chowdhury
Sarthak Chowdhury is an erudite personality in the academic world of social sciences and related disciplines. He served as Principal (Adhyaksha), Palli Siksha Bhavana (Institute of Agriculture), Visva-Bharati, and also as Head of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Economics, and Agricultural Statistics, Visva-Bharati. He began his academic career as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at Banaras Hindu University. He has more than three decades of experience in teaching, research, extension, and academic management. He has supervised the doctoral work of ten PhD scholars from different disciplines of the social sciences. To his credit, he has authored ten books, including three edited volumes, and published over 150 research and other professional papers. He has organized several national conferences and chaired numerous scientific sessions. His areas of specialization include development communication, project appraisal, and farming situation–based extension.
