Sabyasachi Sircar
Sabyasachi Sircar completed his schooling at Cambridge School, New Delhi. After finishing high school in 1977, he qualified for Chemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, but chose instead to pursue Medicine and graduated from Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), New Delhi. He later obtained his MD in Physiology from University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS), University of Delhi. After brief teaching assignments at MAMC and Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh, he returned to UCMS, where he has continued his academic career.
A prolific innovator in teaching, Dr. Sircar has published several papers in the American Journal of Physiology (Advances in Physiology Education) and developed computer-based courseware in the early 1990s. In 1995, he became the only scholar from the developing world to receive a fellowship from the International Union of Physiological Sciences and served as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Texas at Austin...
