RS Ambasht
Prof. R.S. Ambasht, PhD, FNASc, FNA was Emeritus Professor, INSA Honorary Scientist, CSIR Emeritus, and INSA Senior Scientist, and served as Professor and Head of the Department of Botany at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, UP. With over 40 years of teaching and research in ecology and environmental sciences, he was honored with the Birbal Sahni Gold Medal (IBS), Platinum Jubilee Lecture Award (ISCA), UGC-Pranwanand Saraswati National Award, and fellowships of the Indian National Science Academy and the National Academy of Sciences. He served on the board of the International Association of Ecology (INTECOL), was Secretary of ISTE, President of the National Institute of Ecology, and a member of the National Committee on Wetlands, Ministry of Environment. Prof. Ambasht authored several books and chapters and edited multiple prestigious publications. He is widely recognized for his research in conservation ecology, production ecology, and pollution ecology.
