R Ramya MDS, Dip. in Tobacco Control, PhD is Professor and Head, Department of Oral Biology, Saveetha Dental
College, Chennai. She was a gold medalist in her postgraduate programme. She is the editor-in-chief of
International Journal of Orofacial Biology. She has published several scientific papers in national and
international journals. She is passionate about craniofacial research and has 12 international and national
patents and 2 national level innovation awards to her credit. She has obtained research grants from DST and
BIRAC, Delhi, for projects related to xerostomia and hemostats. Her brainchild SDC Vivarium serves to inspire young
minds about the infinite research possibilities in the craniofacial region. She has a PhD degree in organotyping of
oral diseases.
