NK Ambasht
Dr. N.K. Ambasht, MSc, PhD, MNASc is Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Botany at Christ Church College, Kanpur, UP. He earned BSc (Hons, Gold Medal), MSc, and PhD from Banaras Hindu University. As a Senior Research Associate (Pool Scientist) at CSIR, he conducted postdoctoral research and taught BSc and MSc classes at BHU. He also worked as a visiting scientist with Prof. Donat P. Häder at Friedrich Alexander University, Erlangen, Germany, and presented papers internationally in Manchester (UK) and Copenhagen (Denmark). He has published over 35 research papers in high-impact journals and co-edited two books with Kluwer Academic Press (now Springer). He is the recipient of the BHU Prize, M.M. Malviya Gold Medal, and the Young Scientist Certificate of the Indian Science Congress (1996). He is a member of the Board of Studies (Botany), CSJM University, and is internationally recognized for his research on UV-B radiation and tropospheric ozone impacts on crop plants.
