K. Balaveera Reddy
obtained his postgraduation from IIT, Kharagpur, in machine design and doctorate from IIT, Madras. Later he proved his worth as an ideal teacher in Karnataka Regional Engineering College (NITK), Surathkal. He has maintained record of accomplishments in the research fields such as design of machine elements, reliability and machinery diagnostics, torsional vibrations, and gears and gear shafts. He was Director, Department of Technical Education, Government of Karnataka, Bangaluru, and Vice-Chancellor, Visvesvaraya Technological University, Karnataka, Belgaum.
