H. V. Lakshminarayana, PhD
Dr. H. V. Lakshminarayana was Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bengaluru. He completed his postgraduate studies and PhD at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.
He began his career as a Lecturer at University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE), and later joined the National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), where he served as Additional Director (1973–1990), Structures Department. He also worked as a Research Assistant at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio, and at the University of Montreal, Canada.
He published more than 50 technical papers and book chapters, primarily in the field of composite structures, and authored two textbooks on Finite Element Analysis and Its Applications in Engineering Design. He received the Best Teacher Award from Bangalore University and the Outstanding Research Performance Award from NAL.
