GK Pal
Prof. G.K. Pal, MD, PhD, DSc, is Professor (Senior Scale) in the Department of Physiology at JIPMER, Puducherry, and former Executive Director & CEO of AIIMS Patna. He has also served as Dean, JIPMER Karaikal; Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Pondicherry University; and Registrar (Academic), JIPMER.
With nearly four decades of experience in physiology education, research, and academic leadership, Prof. Pal is a renowned Indian physiologist and medical educator. His areas of expertise include neurophysiology, cardiovascular physiology, HRV, BRS, cardiovascular risk assessment, stress physiology, and Yoga.
He has received several prestigious honours, including the ICMR Scientist Award for Biomedical Research, Dr. B.K. Anand Research Prize, Best Teacher Awards, and multiple distinguished orations. In 2023, he established India’s first DM superspeciality course in Clinical and Interventional Physiology at AIIMS Patna.
