BN Dutta completed his BE in civil engineering from Shivpur Engineering College, Calcutta. He joined UP PWD and served there for many years. Later he joined Hewett Polytechnic, Lucknow, as lecturer in civil engineering. While teaching, he brought out this book utilizing his practical and teaching experience.
