Dr. S Vetrivel Chezian is a distinguished orthopaedic educator and clinician with over three decades of experience. He holds an MBBS and Diploma in Orthopaedics from Stanley Medical College, Chennai, and an MS in Orthopaedics from Madras Medical College, Chennai. He was awarded a PhD by Bharathiar University, Tamil Nadu, and an FRCS by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow.
Dr. Chezian is the Director and Professor at the Institute of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. He also serves on the Board of Research at Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University. Known for his contributions to orthopaedic education and research, he developed the Vetrivel Trauma Score for predicting limb viability in severe fractures and has received multiple accolades, including the Tamil Nadu Scientist Award, the Best Doctor Award from the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, and a gold medal for his innovation in calcaneal fracture management.
