Textbook of Pharmaceutical Drug Analysis is a systematic and detailed account of some important chapters of pharmaceutical analysis to permit the pharmacy students and the pharmacists to understand principles of analysis and many of them in detail. Major objective of this text is to provide a thorough background in those analytical principles that are particularly important in pharmaceutical analysis. The book aims to teach those laboratory skills that will give students confidence in their ability to obtain experimental data. The subject matter is discussed in 8 chapters covering mainly titrimetry and gravimetry besides general introduction to pharmaceutical analysis. The material in this text covers both fundamental and practical aspects of Pharmaceutical Analysis. An Appendix containing the equivalent weights of some commonly used compounds, indicators, primary and secondary standards have also been included. Glossary of some important definitions at the end of the book will serve the purpose of quick memory and references. The book fulfils basic needs in understanding the concepts of pharmaceutical analysis.

Dr. Mohammed Ali, PhD, is former Dean and Acting Vice Chancellor of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi. He has held academic and research positions at Jamia Millia Islamia, Hamdard College of Pharmacy, University of Delhi, and CSIR’s Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu. He also served as Head of the Department of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry at Jamia Hamdard. With over 50 years of experience in teaching and research, his expertise spans natural products, medicinal chemistry, and phytochemistry. He has published 776 research papers, presented 205 papers at national and international conferences, authored 17 books and textbooks, and contributed chapters to seven international books.
