Piyush Gupta MD, FIAP, FNNF, FAMS, FRCPCH is Professor, Department of Pediatrics, and Principal, University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi, and served as President of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics in 2021. A renowned academician, teacher, researcher, author and editor, he has published over 300 research papers, written more than 450 book chapters, and edited or authored 50 books, including PG Textbook of Pediatrics, IAP Textbook of Pediatrics, Essential Pediatric Nursing, Principles of Medical Education, and How to Write a Thesis. He served as Editor-in-Chief of Indian Pediatrics for six years. He has received fellowships from the Royal College of Paediatrics (UK), Indian Academy of Pediatrics, National Neonatology Forum, and National Academy of Medical Sciences, and was awarded by the American Academy of Pediatrics for his work on micronutrients. He has served as technical expert and advisor to the Government of India, WHO, UNICEF and ICMR, delivered over 40 orations including the prestigious KL Wig Oration, and served as Joint Secretary of the South Asia Pediatrics Association. He is a recipient of the National Teacher of Excellence Award conferred by the Vice-President of India and the “Outstanding Asian Pediatrician Award” (2022) by the Asia Pacific Pediatric Association.
