Sunder Lal, MBBS, DPH, MD Former Professor and Head, Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Pt. BD Sharma Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak, Haryana Dr. Sunder Lal is an eminent public health expert with over 50 years of experience in teaching, training, and research in community medicine. He served as an ICDS consultant for 25 years and was the honorary chief editor of the Indian Journal of Community Medicine. Dr.Lal was also the Secretary-General of the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM) for 9 years and is a Fellow of IAPSM. He has published the Textbook of Community Medicine: Preventive and Social Medicine and over 190 research papers in national and international journals. He retired as Deputy Director-General (Medical), TA, with a meritorious service award. Dr. Lai has received several prestigious awards, including the Dhanwantari Oration Award and the Amrut Mody Unichem Prize for outstanding research on maternal and child health. He was President of IAPSM in 2010-11.
