He completed an MBA in Hospital Management from IIBM, Meerut, a Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetology from Vinayaka Missions University, Salem, and postgraduate certificates in Geriatric Medicine and Clinical Cardiology. Dr. Ramachandra has extensive academic and administrative experience, having served as Vice Principal, Principal, Dean, and Medical Director at multiple medical colleges from 1986 to 2019, along with experience in hospital administration. He has authored several books, including Hospital Administration and Management, Concise Book on Geriatric Medicine, Textbook of Medical Physiology, Textbook of Practical Physiology, and Review of Medical Physiology.
