Khar is a recipient of the 1985 Anangute Institute of Pharmacy award, Faridabad (NCR), and is a former Dean and Head of the Department of Pharmacy, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi. He is the Founder and Executive Director of Pharmakon Concept Ltd., which provides consultancy services to pharmaceutical industries and academic institutions. He has contributed more than 255 scientific publications with a cumulative impact factor of approximately 370 and over 2,430 citations. He is the author/editor of 11 textbooks and reference books and has supervised 53 research scholars for PhD. He holds Indian and US patents in the area of dosage form development and has been a poster and invited speaker at various national and international conferences.
