The main objective of this book is to provide students with the knowledge of how secondary metabolites are generated in crude drugs, and how they are isolated and identified, and produced industrially. Also, the subject includes the study of chemistry and chemical classes, biosources, therapeutic uses, and commercial applications of drugs containing secondary metabolites. Md. Rafiul Haque, MPharm, PhD
Dr. Md. Rafiul Haque is a faculty member at the School of Pharmacy, Al-Karim University, Katihar, Bihar. He earned his BPharm (2006), MPharm (2009), and PhD in Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry from the School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (SPER), Hamdard University, New Delhi. He was awarded an AICTE Fellowship during his MPharm program.
Dr. Haque has worked as a Senior Research Fellow on a CCRUM project under the Department of AYUSH, New Delhi, and has also gained industrial experience in various unit operations at Hamdard Laboratories (India), Manesar, Gurugram, Haryana. He possesses extensive experience in teaching, industry, and research.
He has published several research articles in reputed international journals, along with a few publications in well-recognized national journals, and has presented his work at numerous national and international conferences. Dr. Haque is GATE-qualified and has been honored by his institution for his dynamic contributions to organizational growth. He is an active member of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) and serves as a reviewer for journals such as Pharmaceutical Biology and Toxicology Mechanisms and Methods.
