This manual is devoted to the subject of medicinal chemistry and has been compiled especially to meet the requirements of undergraduate students under the new syllabus prescribed by PCI. The manual is designed to illustrate the concept of basic techniques in practical organic medicinal chemistry. It is divided into three sections. covers some basic techniques. discusses one step, two steps, multiple steps and extraction of medicinally active substances, and illustrates the synthesis of organic compounds followed by spectral data. covers some named chemical reactions useful in medicinal chemistry. This manual will be very useful to undergraduate students as well as the concerned teachers.
Anees Ahmad Siddiqui, MPharm, PhD, is currently Professor at BM College of Pharmacy, Gurugram, Haryana. He is a former Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (SPER), Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi. With over 44 years of experience in teaching and research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, Dr. Siddiqui has attended numerous national and international conferences in India and abroad. He has authored several research publications and holds life membership in many national pharmaceutical associations.
