Malathi Murugesan

Dr. Malathi Murugesan is currently working as an Associate Consultant and Hospital Infection Control Officer at Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre, Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Previously, she served as Assistant Professor and Hospital Infection Control Officer in the Department of Clinical Microbiology at Christian Medical College and Hospital, Vellore, until May 2022. She completed her undergraduate medical education at Government Theni Medical College, Tamil Nadu, and her postgraduate degree (DNB/M.D. Microbiology) from Chengalpattu Medical College, Tamil Nadu. She successfully completed the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTM&H) from the Royal College of Physicians, London, and also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Infectious Diseases (PGDID). Dr. Murugesan has presented numerous posters at national conferences and has received a Best Poster Award. She has approximately 15 publications in national and international journals. She has contributed to the AMS–CBS latest revision series and is an author for AIIMS KONCPT 20. She has served as editor of the CBS Textbook of Microbiology for Nursing Students and has contributed chapters to the APT Textbook of Medicine and several other reputed publications.
