Sangeeta Sharma, a pharmacologist with QMAHO certification, an MD, and an MBA in Healthcare Administration, is currently Professor and Head of the Department of Neuropsychopharmacology at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS), Delhi. She is also the Honorary President of the Delhi Society for Promotion of Rational Use of Drugs (DSPRUD), an NGO at the forefront of promoting the rational use of medicines and improving the accessibility and availability of quality drugs since 1996. She has rich and diverse professional and managerial experience in the healthcare sector. Her key areas of expertise include rational use of medicines, patient safety and quality of care, and the planning, implementation, and monitoring of policy-relevant interventions. She has conducted several workshops to build capacity in the development and implementation of quality assurance programs for doctors, nurses, and pharmacists. She has advised several Indian states in developing drug policies, essential medicines lists, standard treatment guidelines (STGs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
