Practical forms an important and integral part of learning anatomy. For a long time students have been drawing diagrams on common science practical notebooks. The paucity of suitable publications has motivated the authors to bring out this well organised anatomy practical workbook. The workbook provides practical work on general anatomy and all six sections of gross anatomy. All topics of various sections have been followed by clinical anatomy, an important aspect of anatomy not only for the examination but also for their future clinical training.

As suggested by our honorable colleagues the tabulated form of origin and insertion of limb muscles has been re-introduced in this new edition. All the muscles of head and neck are also tabulated. With these additions, the completed workbook will provide for all the muscles of the body in a tabulated form. The students of any stream of medical profession can revise and relearn them from one workbook only instead of the BD Chaurasia's Human Anatomy volumes.

The diagrams to be drawn by the students will hone their artistic skills. The workbook is ideally suited to serve the practical requirements of undergraduate students of medical, dental, and allied health sciences courses.

Krishna Garg

Krishna Garg, MS, PhD, FAMS, FIMSA, FIAMS, FASI, is former Professor and Head of the Department of Anatomy at Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC), New Delhi, where she completed her MS and PhD and taught until retirement. She was elected Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences (FAMS) in 2005 and has received multiple honors, including the Excellence Award in Anatomy (2004, Delhi Medical Association), Life Time Achievement Award, Fellowship of the Anatomical Society of India, and the DMA Distinguished Services Award. She serves as visiting faculty for DNB and MDS programs and as a PhD examiner. She is the chief editor of BD Chaurasia’s Human Anatomy (9th edition, Vols. 1–4) and editor or coauthor of several other anatomy and physiology textbooks for medical, nursing, and pharmacy students. She has published 53 scientific papers.

Medha Joshi, MBBS, FCGP, is visiting faculty in the Department of Anatomy at Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya National Institute for Persons with Physical Disabilities and Amar Jyoti Institute of Physiotherapy, Delhi. She has taught anatomy to dental students at Krishna Dental College and Harsaran Das Dental College, Ghaziabad, and serves as an examiner for Delhi University.
