U Santosh Pai
U. Santosh Pai, MS (General Surgery), is the former Professor and Head, Department of Surgery, Melaka Manipal Medical College, Manipal, Karnataka (2009–2020). He also served as Professor, Department of Surgery, Melaka Manipal Medical College, Melaka, Malaysia (2004–2009); Professor and Head, Department of Surgery, Manipal Teaching Hospital, Pokhara, Nepal (2002–2003); and Professor and Unit Chief, Department of Surgery, Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal (1987–2002).
He has over 40 years of operative and teaching experience and has been a teacher of surgery to more than 2,000 undergraduate students, as well as a guide to approximately 150 postgraduate students.
He has received the Best Teacher Award on multiple occasions during his career and has served as an examiner for more than six universities in India and abroad. Aptly, he has dedicated this book to his teachers and medical students.
