Savita Malhotra
Savita Malhotra, MD, PhD, FAMS, is a former Professor and Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Dean at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, a premier center of excellence for tertiary healthcare in North India. She has been a WHO Fellow and a British Council Fellow, receiving specialized training in child and adolescent psychiatry in the US and the UK.
With over 60 years of experience in academic psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry, she has authored numerous influential research articles, book chapters, and books. She is highly acclaimed nationally and internationally as a clinician, teacher, and researcher, and has received multiple prestigious national and international awards and honors.
She has been a guiding force in establishing child and adolescent psychiatry as an academic discipline in India, significantly shaping its growth and development.
